The marriage line is the seam where the two halves of a doublewide meet — floor, ceiling and both end walls. Closing it is trim-out work, done after the home is set and leveled.
Short answer: The trim-out carpenter finishes the seam: the ceiling strip, the floor joint under the carpet or flooring, the interior wall joints, and the exterior siding and roof cap where the halves meet. Trim-out also hangs the doors that ship loose, sets the trim the factory left off, and finishes the crossover connections. The setup contractor's contract sometimes includes trim-out and sometimes stops at set-and-level, so ask which before the home arrives.

Its quality is the difference between a home that looks joined and one that looks like two halves.
Walk the marriage line end to end. Look for gaps at the ceiling strip, a ridge or dip in the floor at the seam, siding that does not line up, and a roof cap that is sealed the whole length. Anything that moves later usually shows here first, and a level check is worth asking for before trim covers it.
